Springbrook and Tamborine Mountain are both about 45 km from Surfers Paradise, around one hour by road. GEC Transfers takes you up in a private vehicle booked for your party only. No shared shuttle, no other passengers and no set departure times.

Springbrook is part of the Gondwana Rainforests of Australia, on the World Heritage list since 1994. The plateau sits on the northern rim of the Tweed volcano, which formed the whole landscape about 23 million years ago. The rainforest up here is ancient, and at the highest points you walk among Antarctic beech trees.
The usual drop-off points are Purling Brook Falls, the Best of All Lookout and Natural Bridge. Natural Bridge is a rock arch with a waterfall running through it, and after dark the cave behind it fills with glow worms, which is why many guests book a late pickup there.
Tamborine Mountain is a plateau village with wineries, a distillery, and galleries and cafes along Gallery Walk. Witches Falls became Queensland's first national park in 1908. Curtis Falls is a short walk from the village, and the Skywalk takes you above the rainforest canopy.
For a wine lunch where nobody has to drive home, a return transfer or a driver by the hour is the usual choice.
