Burleigh Heads sits towards the southern end of the Gold Coast, so it is a longer run than Surfers Paradise or Broadbeach. Burleigh Heads is one of the best-known beach towns on the Gold Coast. It has a surf beach, a headland national park, a strip of cafes and restaurants on James Street, and a quieter feel than Surfers Paradise.
James Street is the centre of Burleigh's dining and shopping. The Esplanade runs along the beachfront, with parks, walking paths and apartment buildings facing the water. At the southern end of the beach, Burleigh Head National Park has coastal walking tracks and views back along the coast.
Just south of the headland is Tallebudgera Creek, a popular spot for swimming and a holiday base in its own right. Burleigh Waters sits inland, and Miami and Palm Beach are the neighbouring suburbs. We drive to all of them.
